Capabilities
ICI
has the expertise and capabilities to completely produce assembly-ready, precision
aluminum components.
Engineering
ICI employs the latest versions of CAD/CAM software together
with state-of-the-art computer workstations. The company also has full electronic
file (PRO-E, IGES, DXF, DWG, STL, SLD-PRT, PRT) transfer (FTP)
capabilities. Samples
and Prototyping ICI utilizes its engineering expertise
to deliver production-grade samples and prototypes with lead times considered
the shortest in the industry. ICI's samples and prototypes meet
end-product material specifications and properties, streamlining time-to-production
cycles and eliminating second round vender approval processes. This is the continuation
of ICI's Single Point Accountability program. In-House
Tooling As a complement to it's CAD/CAM capabilities, ICI
maintains a modern tool room equipped with the latest CNC and DNC (Direct Numerical
Control) machines and supporting software. Design data is fed directly from CAM
workstations to CNC machine controls for accuracy and rapid transfer. Tool quality
and build cycle is fully controlled by ICI and is not subject
to the variations of outside venders. Investment
Casting Using the solid mold and shell mold investment processes,
ICI's state-of-the-art production facility--including mold making,
preheating, metal handling and material handling--manufactures high-integrity,
precision aluminum investment castings. Castings
produced range in size from miniature up to 30” x 30” x 30”.
Alloys cast include A356, A357, C355 and A203 (RR350). Other aluminum alloys can
be cast as demand warrants. In addition to intricate investment castings,
ICI also furnishes precision cast pre-forms for those applications
requiring extensive finish machining. ICI pre-forms provide increased
process efficiency and reduced machining time and scrap.
Machining ICI operates
a CNC machine shop with multiple-axis machining centers and a CNC lathe. Its in-house
production facility is capable of providing ultra-accurate machining for both
prototype and production requirements. The machine shop is capable of machining
a broad range of metal types and grades. ICI understands, and
corrects for, the variable effect of hot metal processing. This avoids costly
program delays due to improper machining engineering. Finishing/Sub-assembly
To make the component truly ready-for-assembly ICI offers heat
treating; testing; plating, painting and coating; and sub-assembly. For
